Voci disperse (Missing Voices)

A poetry collection published in 1995. From the foreword by Giorgio Celli:

Barbara’s poetry has such an empathic force that it disarms the reader. Being disarmed myself, I will try and write something that goes beyond my emotional participation….

Rather than in dreams, Barbara stands on the verge of dreams.

Her poems are existential in nature: they are about the events and the pain of living, but also about the joy of it, because Barbara isn’t one of those poets who constantly feel sorry for themselves...

Her immediacy of expression grants her a place among the poets of spontaneity and improvisation, the lyric tellers of stories they have lived, the lyricists of folk songs.

As proof to this, I think I may conclude that Barbara’s verses lend themselves more to reciting and telling than to reading. (Giorgio Celli)
